Plans & pricing
The Kiki OS itself is free and open source — installing it and using it on your own hardware costs nothing, ever. The cloud is the optional paid layer, and it's priced to be predictable.
What's always free
- The OS — download, install, and use it forever, free.
- On-device AI — Kiki runs a model on your own hardware at no cost. You only pay for AI if you choose to use the cloud for a model your device can't run.
- Moving your data — syncing your vault, pulling updates, streaming a session. Bandwidth in and out is never charged.
What the cloud meters
| Resource | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Storage | Cloud space for apps, backups, and snapshots. |
| Compute | The time your real-time remote sessions stay connected. |
| AI | Tokens for cloud inference, when you opt into it. |
Plans
| Plan | For | Pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Trying the cloud, a single device, light use. | Free, within generous limits. |
| Pro | Individuals with several devices. | Pay only for what you use. |
| Team | Organizations with a shared fleet. | Per-seat or pay-as-you-go. |
- Free lets you connect a device and use the dashboard and app within limits — enough to see if the cloud is for you.
- Pro is pay-as-you-go: you pay for the storage, compute, and AI you actually use, with no fixed seat fee.
- Team adds a shared fleet, shared data, and role-based access for your organization.
Managing billing
Your plan and usage live under Settings → Billing in the dashboard. See your current plan, an itemized breakdown of usage, and upgrade or change payment details there. Personal and team accounts are billed separately.
Keeping costs near zero
Because Kiki is private and local-first by default, a fleet can run with almost no AI cost — inference stays on your devices unless you allow the cloud. Cloud spend is something you opt into, not something that creeps up on you.
